Day 3

Today started around 6:30am again, and we all had breakfast, made our lunches and headed out to the job site. There was no orientation or anything that we had to do this morning, so we went right to our work site and started work around 8am. The painting team finished up the painting of the exterior on house #1 and we continued to work on the front and side porch and stairs.

After another lunch of MRE's, we went back to work for the afternoon. Just a note to clear up any concern from yesterday's post about crabs, Tom is NOT allergic to crabs! :)

Some of the paint crew moved on to house #2 and the porch/stairs crew almost finished the front and side porch/stairs. Notice the progress from earlier pictures.

Clean-up time.

Here is a shot of house #2. Tomorrow the painting crew will continue on this house and as soon as we finish up the stairs and porches on house #1, we will move to house #2 as well.

Heading back to camp hope in our 15-passenger van.

Heading home took two tries (we had to go back to retrieve a lost bag), but I can't reveal who left the bag for fear of being indicted. :)

So soon we head for dinner and then we have cleaning duty here at Camp Hope tonight. At 7pm we get to mop all the floors, take out all the garbage and other chores. I will make sure to get lots of pictures of all us men working hard this evening (not that I'm trying to get out of cleaning or anything :) )

You would never try to get out of cleaning, Chris! That's so unlike you. :)

Sounds like you guys are doing really well and it's so nice to see and hear about your days in Louisiana.

Wish you could be with us, but glad you are there!

Thanks, Chris, for all the updates and pics. It's so great to have a day-to-day update--it's almost as good as being there. NOT! Great job!

Praying for you and your families. Thanks so much, guys, for doing this!

Greetings and blessings to all!

Chris, thanks again for another informative and entertaining post. I'm starting a betting pool on who left their bag at the job site.
